FISCHER USA – Quality Manager

Job Function:
- Coordinate and Prioritize: Manage and prioritize all activities within the quality department to ensure seamless material flow and support production efficiency.
- Communication and Problem-Solving: Demonstrate strong communication and problem-solving skills by reporting deviations to relevant supervisors and team members. Utilize Quality Notification System for efficient communication and resolution.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement areas for continuous improvement within the quality department and Quality Management System. Drive corrective actions through 8D and 4D processes.
- ISO 9001 Compliance: Lead efforts to develop, implement, and maintain ISO9001 quality systems. Conduct internal audits to prepare for external audits and drive continuous improvement.
- Data Collection and Storage: Develop and support systems for data collection and storage that contribute to the digital twin of a finished product.
- Gauge Calibration and Maintenance: Oversee effective gauge calibration and maintenance across the organization. Control costs through efficient utilization of internal and external resources.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Design Engineering, and Production Supervisors to troubleshoot issues on the production floor.
- Supplier Quality: Ensure suppliers are informed of non-conformance and collaborate to achieve the required quality standards.
- Customer Audits: Represent FISCHER USA in customer audits and coordinate audits finding responses.
- Backup Role: Act as a backup for all positions reporting directly to you, including processing outside service purchase orders, CMM programming and operation, FORM-Measuring machine, shop floor support, and gauge calibration.
- Safety Focus: Support safe working practices across the organization, prioritizing personnel safety as the number one goal.
Your profile
Mandated Qualification Requirements:
- Experience: 5 years or more in a quality role, with 1-3 years in a supervisory leadership role.
- Technical Knowledge: Proficient in gauge R&R studies, calibration, statistical analysis of measurement data, and working within an ISO 9001 quality system.
- GD&T Expertise: Working knowledge of GD&T and experience in inspecting parts using CMM and traditional measuring methods.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (preferred).
Other Requirements:
- Good oral and written communication skills in English (German proficiency is a plus).
- Excellent manual dexterity, high mechanical aptitude, ability to read complex blueprints, and familiarity with inspection and measuring techniques.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair technical problems and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
